Family & Student Supports

At HCPHS, we recognize that our students may have significant social, emotional or life challenges that act as barriers to success. We stand ready to support our students as they cope with these challenges. Students should utilize their homeroom teachers as a first point of contact for problemsolving. If a student needs additional support, he or she may request to see our school social worker or counselor. Students should complete the electronic Office Staff Request form or ask their teacher to complete a request form online. We ask that students respect the learning process and communicate with staff at appropriate times so as not to interrupt instruction.

Our mission is to bridge the gap between parent, school, and community and improve relationships between home and school by empowering families to become proactive in their children’s education on a continuous basis.

GOAL 1:  Build and strengthen family and community partnerships to support the academic and character development of all students.

GOAL 2: Provide two-way communication between families and teachers and among families, schools, and the community.

GOAL 3: Eliminate or reduce barriers to greater family participation and effective parent/child relations. Barriers include, but are not limited to, socioeconomic, language/cultural/racial/ethnic, special needs or limited literacy.

GOAL 4: Provide training opportunities for parents to assist them to understand standards and academic content to better assist their child(ren) in improving academic performance, as well as improve parenting skills and knowledge.
